I want to start by saying that I have a great appreciation for Claire Vandiver! She is witty and amusing without crossing into vulgarity or offensiveness. My husband and I eagerly anticipated Claire's arrival in AZ for months. We drove over 2 hours to attend her show, and it was absolutely worth it. The whole evening was filled with laughter. I laughed so hard that I'm still feeling the effects on my muscles. After her performance, we all stood up and cheered so loudly that she returned for a 20-minute encore. I found that to be fantastic and indicative of Claire's gratitude towards her supporters.
Even though I'm a big fan of Claire, I must admit that I wasn't particularly fond of her brother's opening act. While he had some funny moments, I personally felt that certain jokes were somewhat tasteless. They weren't extremely offensive, just a bit inappropriate. It's clear that Claire's audience consists mainly of conservative individuals seeking wholesome entertainment (as seen by several members of my church in attendance), and Dennis didn't quite fit that mold. I will definitely attend Claire's future shows, and hopefully, if Dennis performs again, he will have adjusted his style.
In the end, we were extremely satisfied with our evening and would recommend the show to anyone. In fact, I've already done so. :)
